I’ve decided to teach a new class, Integral Embodiment on Monday mornings starting in April. I’m excited! I’ve been subbing for yoga teachers when they can’t make it and I do this combo of modalities that I came up with for my own Integral life practice. So far everyone who has done it has loved it, so I might as well teach it regularly. It is a pretty badass practice if I do say so myself, combining the best of a dozen different modalities. If you want to know which ones, you’ll have to come try it out!

Terry Patten: A New Republic of the Heart
Thursday, March 22nd 7:00pm – 9:30pm in the Chapel
In the midst of today’s global crises, many of us are disheartened. We recognize the need for radical change, both in ourselves and in our social and political institutions, if we are to have a sustainable future, but we don’t how to enact it.
In A New Republic of the Heart: An Ethos for Revolutionaries, Terry Patten provides a practical approach to “being the change” that begins with the individual and yet can affect the whole system. The book provides a detailed and inspiring illustration of how inner and outer transformation are entirely interdependent. In fact, the future of our very life-support system are utterly dependent on the quality, intelligence, tenderness, and courage that each of us can cultivate in ourselves and with each other. Perhaps most importantly, this book inspires us to new, joyous ways of relating and conversing that express the potential for heroic goodness that is latent in every human heart.
Mondays (starting April 2nd) 9:00am – 10:30am in the Studio
There are two aspects to Integral Embodiment. One is to exemplify healthy attitudes and behaviors. The other is to have awareness of one’s body in the present moment. Body awareness gives us more control over our physical reality, reactions, emotions, etc. Self-awareness of our attitudes and behaviors helps us orient toward truth, beauty, and goodness throughout the day.
In this Integral practice we will do a variety of exercises that bring us into the present moment, cultivate gratitude and appreciation, process our judgements, love our bodies, improve our physique and posture, release stress, and cultivate inner peace. That is a lot to accomplish in an hour and a half, but it can be done! Jacki Saorsail has taken the best of a dozen different modalities she has learned over the years and put them together into this practice which she has been doing daily for several months. And it works! She has noticed a huge difference in her life physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Come try it!
