Weekly Update for 3/23/17

March 23, 2017

Greetings Community,

I’m so happy it’s finally spring. If you want to get together outside for a hike or a picnic, post on our Facebook group! There is a new office available for rent in the basement. We’re asking $400/mo, which includes one membership. We’re looking for a conscious renter who understands that this is a community center and not a typical office space. Let me know if you or someone you know might be interested.

In This Issue:

  • Taber Shadburne talks about the spiritual side of Authentic Relating in a Relational Leadership Summit video.
  • Tom Thomison will be giving a free talk on Teal Organizations April 5th as part of our New Economy Seminar Series.
  • Coding with Kids, which will be offering a 20% discount to IC members, is having a free Coding Jam next week.

There’s a lot of great events so look at our online calendar for more info and any last minute changes.

Spreading Conscious Conversations

“There is a quickening and power in naming our experience in the presence of another conscious being.” Taber Shadburne Has been teaching authentic relating since before the term was even invented, and this video will give you a taste of his unique articulation and transmission.

Encoding the Legal, Financial and Social Foundations for Teal Organizations

Wednesday April 5th 6:30-8:00pm at the Impact Hub

The first of the New Economy Seminar Series, a partnership between the Impact Hub Academy and The Integral Center with bi-weekly seminars in alternating locations. See the full lineup at http://integralcenter.org/neweconomy

Rapidly changing business environments reward organizational agility, which prompts a move to decentralized decision making. Emerging Teal models of self-organization like Holacracy® distribute authority across the organization while aligning the work with an overarching purpose.

But too often the employer / employee divide still persists as a refuge for personal power holding. Encode.org pushes the decentralization of power even further by encoding new legal, financial and social agreements in the pioneering model of the „For-Purpose Enterprise“ comprised of Organization, Company and Association.

With its groundbreaking work encode.org is deeply aligned with the fundamental Teal principles of self-management, wholeness and evolutionary purpose as described by Frederic Laloux in “Reinventing Organizations”. At the same time the For-Purpose Enterprise is not just an aspiration but an actual lived reality that an increasing number of pioneering organizations are adopting and exploring.

Speaker Bio:

Tom Thomison, co-Founder and partner of encode.org and HolacracyOne, will share encode.org’s genesis from evolutionary tensions emerging from successful implementations of Holacracy and how encode.org addresses them within its new framework to go beyond employment and liberate purposeful work.

The Seminar is followed by a full 1-day workshop hosted by encode.org:

Encoding Self-Organization Beyond the Work

Experience what needs to shift to take self-organization to the next level: build pathways not only to work on purpose, but to earn and live on purpose as well.
