Ask an Elder

Monday April 23rd 6:30pm – 9:00pm in the Chapel

We are a group of friends in what might be called “The Third Act” of our lives. We have been meeting to discover and to work with what is unique and present about this time of life, and to harvest what we are discovering. We call this process “Sage-ing”.

We don’t claim to know more, or to be any wiser than people of other ages, but rather to simply have more life experience, and to be willing to take a conscious and arguably integral, look at ourselves, what has worked, what hasn’t, and what we hope.

It is from this perspective that we offer this event. There will be a panel of several people in their 7th, 8th and 9th decades of life, open to listening to and answering your curiosity. No question is off limits.

Come curious, come open, come for a rich and fruitful conversation.

Permaculture Action Day

On January 1st, after the Polish Ambassador’s New Year’s Eve show, we hosted a Permaculture Action day with a lineup of inspirational speakers and workshops. Click above to watch the presentations!

Spine Spiraling and Body Ball Massage

Fridays 8:30am – 9:30am in the Studio

Create and promote a calm and balanced you!
Resolve or manage nagging joint and muscle issues.
The effectiveness will be evident even in your first class!
Using simple movements on the floor, with spine supported on an Indian blanket roll, easily learn how to release the tension that underlies discomfort and stiffness in the spine. This practice eases
the spiral movement the spine needs during walking.
Self massage techniques using a ball, to create suppleness in tight areas, optimize range of motion, and bring the body back to working the way it should be. The ball becomes hands or feet of the therapist, and the person’s weight creates the traction, movement and release on the ball.
These two practices complement each other in releasing the body of restrictions, stress and tension.
Free for IC members, $15 drop-in.
