Weekly Update for 5/18/18

May 18, 2018

Greetings Community,

Apparently I’m teaching a badass workshop on alternate economies here in two weeks. I’ve been so busy trying to launch my online course in Regenerative Enterprise Design, get a Permaculture farm in Berthoud set up with a new CSA, and of course taking care of the Integral Center that I almost forgot I said yes to it! No biggie though, this is my bag, it’ll be fun! Big thanks to Kate O’flaherty for setting it up with live music and food. I hope to see you there!

In This Issue

  • Adam Hopey and Derrick Yoder will be leading an Authentic Relating Game Night on May 31st
  • Jacki Saorsail will be teaching an Alternate Economies Workshop with live music and food on June 2nd
  • Daniela EK’s Resilient Yin Yoga class will now be on Mondays at 7pm

There’s a lot of great events so look at our online calendar for more info and any last minute changes.

Authentic Relating Game Night ~ The Roles and Rules We Play By

Thursday May 31st 7:00pm – 9:30pm in the Chapel

Imagine standing in front of your closet before a social gathering, trying to decide which roles you are going to wear for the evening.
Yes, you read that right, what ROLES you’re going to wear.
We all play roles, and most of us have a good idea of what those roles are.
But it can feel more like the roles wear us, than us wearing the roles. And that can feel more limiting than freeing.
We want to invite you to Come discover the implicit and explicit rules that govern your behavior, and to try on new roles. By doing this, we can discover a freedom that is our birthright: to choose how we play the game of life.
We will do this in a slow yet progressive way, encouraging the kind of safe space that allows us to be brave and try on new ways of being. As we do this, we will start to discover how the roles we choose to embody, and the rules by which we play, influence what kinds of culture can emerge. We will see our influence on emergent cultures, both big and small. Through this, we will awaken to the dynamics of culture itself, and how we can and cannot influence those dynamics.
You will have the opportunity in this enriching event to question and identify the ways in which you operate in differing social situations, you’ll actively take on different roles, and begin to form your own ability to change the rules you play by in any situation.
Come ready to play, explore, think, challenge, and co-create the world around you.
Free for Integral Center Members, $15 drop-in

In this workshop she’ll discuss business design principles and help you to form clear, concise, meaningful, and memorable purpose and vision statements.
Then we will create a time bartering circle, where you can exchange skills and offerings with others in the group.
We’ll close with a ceremony to weave our vision statements together into a new economy vision loom.

Resilient Yin Yoga

Mondays 7:00pm – 8:00pm in the Studio

Change happens. In our our daily lives, in every experience. Change affects us mentally, physically and emotionally. Change can be good and change can be traumatic. The key is how we respond to it.

Yin yoga is a combination of meditation and asana or pose based practice that targets your connective tissue (tendons, ligaments and fascia).

I know we’re all moving something this summer. Yin yoga is an amazing counterpart to any physical activity: climbing, cyclin, running, dancing,  martial arts, landscaping, carpentry, farming, sitting at a desk, etc…

Yin yoga will help you: improve flexibility, improve mobility, reduce risk injury, aid injury recovery, reduce post work out recovery time, increase joint, muscle and organ health…

Truthfully, I could talk about why yin yoga is amazing for days. It has changed my life and greatly improved my physical, mental and spiritual health. And you don’t have to take my word for it! I want you to try it out!

Your first class is FREE!

Drop in: $10 for non-members

*10 class punch card for $80!*

Daniela EK:

We all walk a unique and wonderful path in life. A path that is only our own and it takes us many places unknown to discover and learn great things. In 2015 I took my first 200 hour yoga teacher training, without much experience. I was searching to heal physical, emotional and psychological pain I had been battling for 7 years. Yoga has empowered me to grow stronger, healthier, more compassionate and ultimately happier. My passion is to meet others along the way and be a positive force in their lives and help them along their own path. In my free time I like to explore nature with my husband and dog, read fantasy, play Capoeira and learn new things.
